Abstract

ARM 32 bit processors, from the tiny Cortex-M0 to the latest top-of-the-line Cortex-A15 (Eagle) are continuing to expand into more markets. Today, ARM is a major player in nearly all market segments. If you want to discover what the various ARM processors are and their relation to each other, this seminar will provide the answers. Bob Boys, Product Manager for ARM will present the roadmap of the entire ARM processor family as well as some insightful information into operating systems especially Linux and multi-processing technology and where things appear to be headed. He will discuss how ARM products are licensed and who tends to become a licensee. He will show the new NVIDIA Tegra-2 (Cortex-A9 Dual Core) and a CPU board from the world's first commercially available Server using ARM processors that run on less than 80 watts. Some examples of where ARM processors are used are quite interesting. The state and direction of development tools will also be discussed. ARM recently celebrated its 20th anniversary.
