Abstract

The goal of the presentation is to focus on practical issues when performing timing analysis, and explain complex types of timing analysis concepts that tend not to be covered in classes such as:

  1. Slack Compensation
  2. Multi-Clock Analysis
  3. Timing Exceptions: False Paths, Multi-Cycle Constraints, etc

Biography

David Karchmer graduated from the University of Toronto with an M.A.Sc. under Professor Jonathan Rose. His work at UofT included working on the original Transmogrifier-1 fast-prototyping system.

Since then David has been working for Altera where he is currently the manager of the Timing Analysis Group and the General Compiler Infrastructure Group. He is also a member of the Altera Software Architecture Board.
