Short Bio

Andrew was born in Taipei, Taiwan. He later moved to Canada where he was raised in Edmonton, Alberta. Here, he received his Bachelors of Science Computer Engineering with distinction from the University of Alberta. He later moved to Toronto, Ontario to further his studies. In September 2005, Andrew Ling received his Master's in Applied Science from the University of Toronto under the supervision of Professor Stephen D. Brown (Master's Thesis).

Andrew Ling is currently a doctorate student at the University of Toronto. His research interests include CAD for EDA, specifically focused for FPGAs. In laymen's terms, Andrew develops design software that allow engineers to implement hardware on reprogrammable micro-chips. Andrew has several publications in the area as seen here. Currently, Andrew is the President of the ECE Graduate Student's Society and Publications Chair for the Computer Group at the University of Toronto.

Andrew's current research supervisors are Prof. Stephen D. Brown and Prof. Jianwen Zhu.
