There are a few key things you need to do when you first get on campus.

First, you should pay your fees first at a branch of one of the banks suggested by the School of Graduate Studies, online payment is also possible if your bank supports online bill payments. You should pay your fees before the 15th, otherwise an interest of 1.5% will be added onto your financial accounts on every month you have an outstanding balance. If you are expecting a scholarship, you can defer payment until November 15th. Note that these dates may change from year to year. Your acceptance package to U of T should have the details of this procedure.

Next, you should get your U of T ID card, go to the U of T card office found in the Robarts Library on the St. George campus. You must have your payment receipt and valid ID to obtain this card. After, you should go to the GSU office to obtain your ISIC card (gives you great discounts on travel), SGS calendar, and other useful information.

You should also stop by the EECG graduate office located at SF1107. There you will meet Darlene Gorzo and Judith Levene who will tell you how to do any necessary paperwork.

For new students, be sure to attend the EECG orientation held in early September. If you cannot attend the orientation, feel free to e-mail the Graduate Coordinator (Professor Steffan [steffan AT eecg DOT toronto DOT edu] ) to arrange an appointment to answer any questions you might have.
