Chinese New Year Celebrations

William decided that we needed to get together. As a result, come Chinese new year on February 1, 2003, we congregated at a restaurant on Spadina to enjoy a festive meal in good company.
We met our host William outside the restaurant. I didn't get a good photograph until later, but as a moral position it comes first all the same.
Of course, William wasn't the only old friend there. Jay and Vivian came as well. They certainly enjoyed the food.
Not to mention Jay and Susan. Ok, I'll mention them anyway. My, Jay sure does get around; this is the second girl he's come with to the very same event!
There were new friends there also. Max and Mariana belong to the control group, and are acquaintances of William. I didn't know them before, so it was my pleasure to meet them.
Susan made a new friend as well. You know, I don't think this one will attract too much attention from Jay...
Susan's new friend wasn't very talkative, but he sure had a face you'll never forget. I think his name was Freddie, Freddie Fish.
Some people didn't bond quite that much with their food. Ali, for example, just ate his. Actually, I think he's just trying to catch up for arriving late, but it appears he's doing a good job of it.
Barry was there too. Now there's someone I don't see around very often. I guess that's the disadvantage of working at home all the time.
There was a whole other table as well, besides the one I was sitting at. Since I was one of the first people seated at my table I was stuck in a corner and couldn't get out to talk or shoot. So this is all you get of them. Don't worry; I'm sure they are all mean and nasty people anyway. Just look at those conspiratorial grins!
Hmm, it looks like the battle of the cameras. Maybe that's what they were planning. Looks like quick-draw Wilfred is winning.
After our lovely meal we went to one of those Chinese malls to take in the sights. Was it Dragon City? I don't actually remember... there sure were a lot of dragons, though. Or maybe those are lions or something; I can't actually tell. =P
They can sure dance better than I can, but what are they saying? I don't know... it's all Chinese to me.
So that was my Chinese new year. Big thanks to William for all the organization. I'll see if I can catch up with everyone again before next year...
