BOOKS
When it comes to books, I am a moody reader. I need to be in a certain mood to enjoy a certain book. I wouldn't be able to enjoy "Harry Potter" when I'm in the mood for "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close" or the other way around. You’ll probably find around 5+ books on my bedside table that I would like to read, I have started, but I haven't been in the mood for. I do go back and finish them once I get in the right spirit, though.
Here it is a listing of books I read and enjoyed so much that I would read again if I had run out of good books (which will never ever happen). Sometimes I get inspiration for a good book from Amir Roth's bookshelf. I just wish more people made their recommendation list available.
Non-Fiction
-
“A Whole New Mind” - Daniel Pink -
"The Last Lecture" - Randy Pausch - worth reading even if you saw the video lecture; if I were to choose: the book was better :) -
"The Meaning of It All-Thoughts of a Citizen Scientist" - Richard Feynman - This is a book I will probably read again and again. I highly recommend this book to any scientific mind. The clarity/brevity of most of his ideas/arguments is impressive! You can find a teaser here (first chapter). -
"Stumbling on Happiness" - Daniel Gilbert - I am halfway through this book, but I love it already. You can find a summary here. Highly recommended (I like it better than the previous two on this list :P). Ok. I'm done with it. I think I liked it, despite the fact that I found his suggested solution to the happiness problem a little bit lousy and disappointing. Still a good read, though. -
"The Tipping Point" - Malcom Gladwell -
"Blink" - Malcom Gladwell -
"The Pleasure of Finding Things Out" - Richard Feynman -
"Surely You're Joking, Mr. Feynman" - Richard Feynman -
"What Do You Care What Other People Think?" - Richard Feynman
