Ioannis Sarkas

Hello !

I am a PhD candidate in the Electronics Research Group of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Toronto. My supervisor is professor Sorin Voinigescu. I received the Master of Applied Science (M.A.Sc.) degree from the University of Toronto in January 2010.

Prior to joining UofT, I received my Diploma from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Patras, Greece. My diploma thesis work was supervised by professor George Papadopoulos.

Research

My research interests span in anything that has to do with high frequency electronics! Specifically, I am interested in mm-wave circuits and systems and in the analysis, design, modeling and characterization of active devices and passive components that make them feasible.

During my tenure at UofT, I have designed various circuits aimed for the 60GHz, 77GHz, 94 GHz and 122 GHz bands in both 65nm CMOS and SiGe BiCMOS. More details can be found in my Publications page.

Teaching

I have been a teaching assistant for:

  • ECE212 - Circuit Theory (Fall 2007, 2008 and 2009)
  • ECE331 - Analog Electronics (Spring 2010, 2011 and 2012)
  • ECE360 - Electronics (Fall 2010 and 2011)
  • ECE442 - Micro & Nano Fabrication (Fall 2010 and 2011)
  • ECE530 - Analog Integrated Circuits (Spring 2012)
