Why named K42? > just curious. The "K" come from Kitchawan which was the original name of the project. It is a local area and road and means running strong. Many of the early conversations about the project originated on walks on the road and through the area. For legal reasons the named needed to be changed when we went open source. The "42" is from Douglas Adams Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy - and is of course the answer to life, the universe, and everything. K42 is thus the answer to next generation scalable operating systems :-) Robert Wisniewski The K42 MP OS Project Advanced Operating Systems Scalable Parallel Systems IBM T.J.
